Bogibeel Bridge(বগীবিল দলং)

The bogibee bridge is a 4.94 km long road/rail bridge that links Dhemaji and Dibrugrah district . Bogibeel Bridge and dibrugrah town only have a distance of 17 kms in between . It was open to the public on 25th December 2018. The bogibeel bridge has both a road and a railroad .it is the longest Rail cum Road Bridge in india . it is Asia’s second longest rail-cum road bridge . it is the 5th longest bridge in india after Bhupen Hazarika Setu , Dibang River bridge , mahatma Gandhi Setu and bhandra – woli sea link.

The Dhola Sadiya Bridge officially known as Bhupen Hazarika bridge is a beam bridge in india connecting the northeast states of assam and Arunachal Pradesh .The bridge spans the lohit river , connecting the village of dhola in the South to the village of of Sadiya to the north both are in tinisukia district of assam.

The bridge was inaugurated on 26th may 2017 by the Indian prime minister Narendra Modi.

Kolia Bhomara Setu (কলিয়া ভোমোৰা সেতু)—

Kolia Bhomara setu is a 3 km long bridge that links koliabor (Nagaon) with Tezpur (sonitpur in northern bank) and is one of the oldest bridges of the state . It was inaugurated in the year 1987 and named after Ahom general kolia bhomora phukan. It is inaugurated by prime minister Rajiv Gandhi . A new bhomoraguri Tezpur bridge 3.040 km long few metres parallel to the existing Kolia bhomora setu is opened in 2021.

Saraighat Bridge(শৰাইঘাটৰ দলং)

Saraighat Bridge(শৰাইঘাটৰ দলং):- The saraighat bridge is rail cum road bridge over Brahmaputra river in assam (India) and is the first of its kind bridge over the river in the state . The length of the bridge is 1.492 km and the road on the bridge is 7.3 metres wide .

This Bridge is located in pandu area of Guwahati city and it connects that area to the Amingaon Area of Kamrup rural .

New Saraighat bridge

New Saraighat bridge:- New Saraighat Bridge is a 1.49km beam bridge that exist parallely to the old one. Unlike the old one the new Saraighat Bridge is a 3 line road bridge. It Connects pandu with the kmarup rural district of assam.

Naranarayan Setu

Naranarayan Setu:- Naranarayan Setu was opened for public use in 1998 . It is the 3rd bridge to have been constructed over the Brahmaputra River in Assam. It is a double deck bridge with a railway track on the lower deck road on the upper deck . It has length of 2.284 km and connects jogighopa a town of bongaigaon District on the north with Pancharatna , a town of goalpara district on the south .This bridge was inaugurated on 15th April 1998 by Atal Bihari Vajpayee

Assam Public Service Commission:- It is headquarted at Jawahar Nagar , Khanapara in Guwahati and function through its own secretariat . it was established on 1st April 1937. As of February 2021 Shri Bharat Bhawan Dev Choudhary is its current chairman. The provisions relating to public service commission have been laid down in chapter-II of part XIV of the constitution. Then chairman and members of the commission are appointed by the governer of the state. The chairman or any other member of the commission can hold office for a period of six years or till he/she attains the age of 62 years whichever is earlier.

Ramsar Site

Ramsar Site:- Ramsar site is a wetland of international importance under the Ramsar convention. Which is also known as the convention on wetlands – an intergovernmental environmental treaty established by UNESCO in 1971 and named after the city of Ramsar in Iran , where the convention was signed that year .

There are 75 Ramsar Sites in India. In Northeast India there are three Ramsar site ——

Formation of Assam and its districs:- Assam Province was a province of British india. Created in 1912 by the partition of the Eastern Bengal and assam province. Its Capital was Shillong.

The Assam territory was first separate from Bengal in 1874 as the north east frontier non regulaton province . It was incorporated into the new province of eastern Bengal and Assam in 1905 and re-established as a province in 1912.

In 1824 Assam was occupied by british forces following the first anlgo Burmese war and on 24 feb 1826 it was ceded to Britain by Burma under the yandaboo treaty of 1826. Between 1826 and 1832 Assam was made part of Bengal under the Bengal presidency. From 1832 to october 1838, The assam princely state was restored in upper assam while the british ruled in lower Assam. Purandar Singha was allowed to rule as king of upper Assam in 1833, But after that brief period Assam was annexed to Bengal by the british . on 6 february 1874 assam , including Sylhet was separated from Bengal to from the assam chief commissionchip , also known as the North eastern Frontier. Shillong was chosen as the capital of the non regulation province of assam in September 1874.

From 16 october 1905 assam became part of the province of east Bengal and assam . the province was annexed in 1911 following a sustained mass protest campaign and on 1st April 1912 the two parts of Bengal were reunited and a new partition based on language followed , oriya and Assamese areas were separated to form new administrative units .

In 1935 election were held for the newly created assam legislative assembly established in Shillong .
